What kind of motor for a 1984 Ford Tempo?

Yes, I'm one of those stupid females who knows nothing about this kind of thing. I asked dad if they all had the same motor and he laughed. So someone who is nice enough not to laugh at me and explain. And maybe tell me what kind of motor a 1984 Ford Tempo would need..because it's a cool little car, but the motor is fried or whatever.

I'm not sure what engines the '84 Tempo had from the factory, but I'd recommend you talk to a mechanic and see what all would be a direct fit without having to make any changes. It's very possible that a motor from a newer Tempo or other Ford product would slide right into the '84 without any problems which means you'd have a newer engine.
