Default Ford Transit Connect Manuals Incorrect Data?.

Twice now our dealership has incorrectly filled our oil levels.. The service manager claims that he was there when the tech added 4.5 (or there abouts) quarts of oil.. But allowing the van to sit over night I checked the oil level in the morning and it was way below the crosshatching marks on the dipstick. Thus I added 1/2 quart of oil myself to top it off and bring the oil level up to and in the middle of those crosshatching marks.

I sent word to our dealership about this.. I'm not upset than the oil level was low, because I'd rather add oil then have the tech over fill the oil pan. I am upset at the fact that the tech spilled oil all over the head, spark plugs and exhaust manifold.

The service manager said for me to bring the van in and he'll have the tech clean this up.. I went as far as to degrease the engine myself with gunk engine cleaner.

As for the oil level inconsistency.. who is at fault here.. or does this really matter. The Service manager sent word to Ford about this.. A Ford Representative asked if I had inserted the dipstick in deep enough to get an accurate reading..

Ford, the dip stick is in as far as it could go, so unless the length of the dipstick is incorrect or the data in the manuals is incorrect that's the reading I get every time.. and because I added 1/2 quart.. The oil level is where it should be in the first place. Right between the min/max zone on the crosshatching.
